Scale: 1:250000; Projection: Polyconic projection; Map Type: lcgft; Other Descriptive Notes about Map Series: Relief shown by contours and spot heights. Complete in 65 sheets. Set includes various issues of sheets covering Honshū, Shikoku and Kyūshū. Military grid. Issued in 1° quadrangles. "Contour interval 100 meters.". Four classes of roads or trails, two types of internal boundaries, and five classes of railroads are shown. "All place names are transcribed according to the modified Hepburn (Romaji) system.". Co-ordinated for use with the following sets covering adjoining areas: Northern Japan 1:250,000 (A.M.S. L561) and Southern Japan 1:250,000 (A.M.S. L591).
