The data was derived from John Mullaney, “Aiding the Desplazados of El Salvador: The Complexity of Humanitarian Assistance” report (Washington, D.C.: U.S. Committee for Refugees, Fall 1984), Table 2, titled “Breakdown of the Displaced Populations (Registered) by Municipality”. According to Mullaney, the source for Table 2 was the National Commission for the Assistance to Displaced People (CONADES). This publication is in Box 206, Folder 1 of the Julian Samora Collection at the Benson Latin American Collection.
